GCC condemns assassination attempt against Saudi ambassador to Washington

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned here today the assassination attempt plotted against the Saudi Ambassador to Washington, terming it as a flagrant and unacceptable violation of all laws, conventions and international norms, seriously harming the relations between the GCC member countries on one hand and Iran on the other hand. Dr. Al Zayani also lauded the effective cooperation between the competent security bodies in both the United States of America and the Republic of Mexico, putting an end to this heinous act. He also called on Iran to rebuild its relations with the GCC member countries on a basis of openness, transparency, constructive cooperation and good neighbor, away from the current negative approach.
