Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) expressed today its support for the U.S. airstrike carried out against military targets in Syria in response to the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime against innocent civilians.
GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani said that the GCC states hope that this missile strike will deter the Syrian regime from continuing its barbaric attacks on the Syrian people, and its continued violations of international laws, including the use of mass destruction weapons against unarmed civilians without conscience or fear of punishment. He also expressed the GCC's support to the US efforts of ending chaos in the Middle-East and countering-terrorism in order to regain stability and peace. He added that the decisiveness of US President Donald Trump will lead to political resolution that alleviates the suffering of refugees.
