A German soldier suspected of planning a terrorist attack was arrested on Thursday, the prosecutor in Frankfurt am Main said.
The 28-year-old soldier had been stationed in French city of Illkirch, and planned to carry out an terrorist attack out of xenophobic reasons, local media reported.
He first came into suspicion when he hided a firearm in the toilet of Vienna Airport in the end of January, officials said.
Searches were made by 90 policemen on Wednesday in 16 places in connection with the suspect in Germany, Austria, and France.
A 24-year-old student was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of the soldier's accomplice, prosecutors said.
Further investigation is underway.
