German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said Turkey should refrain from "blackmail in talks on visa-free travel for Turkish nationals."
Gabriel further hinted that Turkey will be held responsible if the deal falls apart.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavoshoglu threatened to retreat from its refugee deal with the E-U if the bloc doesn’t deliver its promise to lift visa requirements for Turkish nationals.
Implementation of a visa liberalization deal with Ankara has been subject to multiple delays due to concerns over Turkey’s anti-terrorism legislation and Ankara’s crackdown following last month’s failed coup
