Sharjah - Arab Today

The Health and Tourism 2017 campaign, launched this month by the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, will continue until mid-September under the theme of "Lets Walk".

This year’s campaign aims to enhance the culture of walking and movement during the summer season in the community, highlight Sharjah's position in supporting and promoting the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among citizens and residents as well as highlighting the touristic areas in the emirate.

The events saw the active participation of five health support associations in the Supreme Council for Family Affairs: Friends For Diabetes, Friends of Arthritis Patients, Friends of Kidney Patients, Friends of Cancer Patients and Breastfeeding Friends.

Iman Rashid, Director of Health Education Department, emphasised the importance of community participation in the campaign's fourth year programmes and activities, which aims to highlight the role of walking in improving health, preventing disease and encouraging the public to take daily behaviour.

The Health and Tourism 2017 campaign is being held in cooperation with Euro Arabian Hospital, Platinum Sponsor, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Supporting Partner and Golden Sponsor, Bank of Sharjah, Silver Sponsor, Golden Balloon Company, Silver sponsor, Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Media Partner, and Sharjah Media Corporation as Media Sponsor.
