An Iranian parliamentarian said that the human rights committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has adopted resolutions against the Zionist regime. Kazem Jalali who is a member of the IPU human rights committee said the resolutions were adopted after examining complaints by the representatives of Palestine. He noted that representatives of Palestine had filed complaints with IPU human rights committee during the body’s previous session for the Zionist regime’s act of imprisoning a number of Palestinian representatives which resulted in issuing of the resolutions. Jalali represents Asia and Pacific in the five-member human rights committee which is four times a year to examine complaints lodged with it. Jalali is accompanying Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani who is here to take part in the 125th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) being held from October 16-20 with the participation of representatives from more than 120 member states. The body is an international parliamentary institution which convenes twice every year in the venue of a member state. The IPU has presently 157 members and its headquarters is in Geneva, Switzerland.
