Iran’s Vice-President and Head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Ruhollah Ahmadzadeh, on Friday underlined the need for expansion of cooperation between Iran and Russia in the field of tourism. Talking to Russia's Minister of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy Vitaly Mutko in Gyeongju, South Korea, on the sidelines of the 19th United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly meeting, Ahmadzadeh said Tehran and Moscow should focus on regional capacities as an effective means of expediting progress of the ever growing tourism industry. Ahmadzadeh said nowadays, tourism has turned into an effective element for international convergence and Iran and Russia have proper capacity for sustainable development of the industry. He underlined strengthening dissemination of related information and introducing national tourism potential, urging the Russian party to hasten formation of technical committee to draw up documents for mutual memorandum understanding on tourism.
