Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said no military base has been given to Russia or any other country by Iran. He made the remarks in the parliament's open session here on Wednesday.
His remarks came in answer to parliamentarian Heshmatollah Falahat Pisheh, who reminded the legislative body that article 146 of the Iranian Constitutional Laws bans any foreign military bases inside the country even for peaceful purposes, according to (IRNA) news agency.
Falahat Pisheh represents Eslamabad Gharb constituency in the western province of Kermanshah.
The Russian Defense Ministry yesterday announced that it has deployed Tu-22M3 and Su-35s bombers in Hamadan Airfield in Iran to stage airstrikes against militants in Syria.
The ministry said in a statement carried by (Sputnik) news agency that the air forces destroyed five weapons depots and training compounds as well as command posts in Aleppo.
