Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu said Monday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has taken a strategic decision to go to the UN, and that Israel does not expect him to back down from it. Netanyahu, who spoke to the committee of foreign affairs and security of the Knesset, said that Abbas will get what he wants from the UN without negotiations with Israel. He added that "the Palestinian request will be viewed by the Security Council and that Israel are working on an American veto. However Netanyahu believes that the danger lies in Palestine get a majority vote rather than whether they''ll be recognized. Such a majority, according to Netanyahu, will increase Palestinian intransigence, and no Israeli government is willing to accept the Palestinian terms, according to the Israeli Prime Minister. Palestinian news agency (Wafa) quoted Netanyahu as saying that Israel, along with the US administration are working on preparing a document that has "some" points from Obama''s Arab spring speech. However he said that the main difference will be that the borders will not be based on the 1967 lines.
