The Israeli army arrested six Palestinians, two of them accused of attacking Israeli targets, early Sunday in different cities of the West Bank. According to Israeli and Palestinian security sources, the Israeli army arrested four Palestinians in the Beeta village in southeast of the Nablus city, after raiding several houses in the village. Another two Palestinians were arrested in the city of Ramallah after their homes were stormed by the Israeli army, the sources said. The Israel Radio reported that the two were involved in carrying out attacks against Israel. Meanwhile, the Palestinian security sources said clashes erupted Sunday between Palestinian farmers and Jewish settlers in the West Bank. No injuries were reported. Several settlers attacked Palestinian farmers picking olives in the village of Awarta in east Nablus and some other settlers stole the farmers' olives near the town of Qalqilia, Palestinian witnesses said. The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) has earlier warned of the Israeli plans to escalate the Jewish settlers' assaults on the Palestinians "to drag the region to a wave of violence and obstruct the bid for a Palestinian statehood in the United Nations. " Around 2.5 million Palestinians live in the West Bank, where half a million Jewish settlers have been living in 120 settlements since 1967. The Palestinians demand a full cessation of settlement activities in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel in 1967, including east Jerusalem.
