Israeli warplanes carried out a series of attacks on targets in Gaza over the past hours, Palestinian radio stations reported on Saturday. A Palestinian was lightly wounded in an air strike that targeted the town of Al-Shoka, east of the southern city of Rafah. The Palestinian was wounded when the raiding aircraft hit a cultivated field in the town, the radios said. The attacking aircraft fired a single rocket on the town of Al-Qararah north of the eastern town of Khan Youness, but no casualties were reported. They also attacked two smuggling tunnels on the border. The strikes were carried out shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to avenge the attack on buses boarding Israelis in the border area with Egypt. At least eight Israelis were killed in the attack, widely believed to have been carried out by Palestinian militants. At least 15 Palestinians have been killed and 45 others have been wounded in a series of Israeli attacks since last Thursday. Meanwhile, the Israeli media network, "Yedioth Ahronoth," said Israel was targeted with "a hail of rockets last night," and that one of the rockets wounded three Israelis in Ashdod.
