Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) discussed security situation in the Korean Peninsula with his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-In, during bilateral talks at the Bogor Palace on Thursday.
"We also discussed developments in the Korean Peninsula," Jokowi said in a joint press conference with Moon.
Jokowi stressed that Indonesia urged North Korea to comply with all resolutions of the United Nations Security Council on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and stop test-firing ballistic missiles.
"I appreciate the stance of the South Korean president, who is still open to discuss the issue through dialogs," he remarked.
In response, Moon expressed gratitude to Jokowi for his support to solve the issue peacefully.
"I thank Jokowi for his support to solve the North Korean issue peacefully and to create permanent peace in the Korean Peninsula," Moon revealed.
He expressed hope that he would invite North Korea to hold dialogs on the denuclearization of the peninsula and could solve the nuclear issue in the future.
The leaders of the two countries made the remarks in response to North Koreas recent nuclear test, which may lead to a conflict in the Korean Peninsula
