Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has inaugurated a new branch in the eastern Malaysian state of Sabah, in presence of Malaysian and Kuwaiti officials. Speaking to KUNA following the inaugural ceremony, Charge D'affaires at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Malaysia Hamad Al-Hezeim hailed KFH's investment in different Malaysian states. He regarded the presence of a major Kuwaiti institution like KFH in Malaysia as an element that would surely bring both friendly nations closer, and even create joint economic interests. Kuala Lumpur seeks to draw Kuwaiti investment institutions to run business in Malaysia thanks to the country's developed infrastructure and streamlined investment procedures, he said. It is part of Malaysia's 2020 economic vision, which is primarily based on turning Malaysia into a developed nation in the future, Al-Hezeim pointed out. KFH, which launched its investment in Malaysia in 2006, has made great accomplishments in the Islamic banking system in the country over the last few years.
