Some Libyan rebels say they are certain Moammar Gadhafi's son, Khamis, and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi are dead, but the deaths were not confirmed. Rebel military spokesman Ahmed Bani was quoted as saying rebels have information that the younger Gadhafi and Senussi were killed during weekend fighting southeast of Tripoli, The Tripoli Post reported Tuesday. "Khamis Gadhafi was buried in Bani Walid," Bani reportedly told al-Arabiya. Mustafa Abdul Jalil, leader of the rebels' National Transitional Council, said Monday he did not have official information about Khamis' death. Khamis Gadhafi, leader of the notorious Khamis Brigade, has been reported dead twice before, only to reappear on television. Human Rights Watch said the Khamis Brigade apparently executed detainees whose bodies were found in a warehouse in Tripoli. Claims about Khamis Gadhafi's death came as the Algerian foreign minister said Moammar Gadhafi's wife and three of his other children fled to Algeria. Moammar Gadhafi has been in hiding. Khamis Gadhafi once commanded a brigade of about 10,000 men that had been described as Libya's most effective military unit and a key part of the security apparatus, the Post said. In The Hague, Netherlands, International Criminal Court lead prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said Monday he may seek an arrest warrant for Khamis Gadhafi, accusing him of crimes against humanity. ICC arrest warrants already are filed against Senussi, Moammar Gadhafi and Gadhafi's son Saif, charging them with crimes against humanity.
