His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah concludes his official visit to Canada on Wednesday and heads to Washington for a two-day official visit. HH the Premier met during his three-day visit with the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper where they discussed cooperation between the two states. He also met with Head of the Canadian Senate and Parliament Speaker also discussed with them ways of cooperation in various fields. The Canadian media has shown great interest in HH the Prime Minister's visit, as the (Vancouver Sun) daily issued a report titled "Canada signs deal to invest and expand cooperation in air transport with the State of Kuwait." The newspaper said "It was a good opportunity for Canada to sign agreements with the State of Kuwait, which holds strong relations with Canada especially after its participation in the war to liberate Kuwait from Saddam Hussein's regime". "The Canadian government hopes to increase the size of its trade and investment with the State of Kuwait after the Prime Ministers of both states signed an agreement to protect investments as well as a declaration of principles for air transport, which opens the door to further cooperation in all areas," it added. The newspaper said H.H. Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah's visit and the signing of these agreements illustrates strong relations between the two sides. Meanwhile, the Montreal Gazette reported that the agreements signed during His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait's visit, symbolizes historic relations, in addition to being the most important agreements signed during the past 20 years of unique relations between the two states. The Toronto Sun said in a report that the Canadian Prime Minister highly welcomed the Kuwaiti premier's visit, as the two sides discussed ways to increase and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
