Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, in meeting with Swiss Cantons parliament (Senate) speaker said that Iran gives much importance to relations with Switzerland. Larijani in a meeting with Cantons speaker in the venue of parliament on Tuesday afternoon reminded that Swiss President Micheline Calmy-Rey and former Swiss foreign minister had played an important role in Iran's nuclear issue. Larijani stressed that the US shouts democratic slogans but supports dictators in the region and this is one of the dispute points between Iran and the USA. He also said US has dual standards on Yemen and Bahrain. Swiss Senate speaker, for his part, said that the western society is facing with lack of spiritualities. Larijani also met with counterparts from Colombia and Bosni-Herzegovina and discussed issues of mutual interest with them. Iran's parliament (Majlis) speaker, heading a parliamentary delegation, visited Switzerland to attend the 125th meeting of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The meeting started its work on October 16 and lasts until October 20, 2011 here in Bern. Representatives from more than 120 member states have attended the meeting.
