Mahmoud Jibril, head of Libya's ruling National Transitional Council (NTC) executive board said he would leave his post once the NTC forces take control of the whole country, Al-Arabiya TV reported Tuesday. Mahmoud Jibril vowed to step down once the military situation is resolved in the country. Jibril will continue to head the executive committee until the formation of an interim government. The NTC finalized a new cabinet line-up on Monday after more than a month of uncertainty. Meanwhile, the NTC fighters prepared to launch a final assault on the fallen leader's enclave of Sirte, where they have been trading fire with Muammar Gaddafi's loyalists still holed up in the coastal town.
