Speaker of Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) Ali Larijani called for expansion of parliamentary ties between Iran and Kuwait in a meeting here Sunday with his Kuwaiti counterpart Jassem Al-Kharafi. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the ongoing 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada held in the Iranian capital. Expressing satisfaction over the progressing trend of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries, Larijani said the level of Iran-Kuwait relations was “excellent” in the region. Al-Kharafi said, for his part, that Iran and Kuwait have enjoied a long history of good-neighboring relations. The Kuwaiti speaker is currently in Tehran to attend the 5th International Conference on the Palestinian Intifada. The two-day conference began Saturday with a speech by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
