Mauritania's President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz said he will not run for another presidential term, noting that opposition was raising the issue without any occasion.
An interviewed broadcast by the Spanish radio late Sunday, the Mauritanian president asserted that he will not run for a third term, but opposition are raising the issue one and half a year ahead of the end of his current presidential term.
He pledged to respect the Mauritanian constitution which stipulated that the presidential term is five years and would be extended for only one time.
