Manama - Arab Today

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received new United States Ambassador to Bahrain Justin Siberell.

The minister praised the strong relations between the two countries, which, he said, are reinforced by cooperation in various fields, especially in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy.

Dr. Mirza reviewed the development of relations between Bahrain and the United States as well as the projects implemented in the electricity, water and sustainable energy sectors.

Dr. Mirza gave the visitor a presentation on the projects implemented by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) and the Sustainable Energy Unit, including the National Plan for Energy Efficiency and the National Energy Plan and some important renewable energy projects such as the 100-megawatt solar power project, net metering and the investment opportunities available to American companies in these fields.

The ambassador said American companies would be willing to participate in these projects.

He thanked the minister and the officials for the welcome and the hospitality and spoke of the readiness of the United States to strengthen the existing cooperation between the two countries.
