His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and visiting US Secretary of State John Kerry today took stock of the latest regional and international developments with an eye on crises in Syria Iraq, Yemen and Libya.
Sheikh Mohamed received John Kerry in Abu Dhabi to discuss the most important initiatives aimed at putting an end to the suffering of civilian populations and to conflicts and bringing about security and stability to the region.
The meeting, which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, and H.H.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reviewed ties of friendship and co-operation between the UAE and US and ways of furthering them in a way that consolidates existing strategic partnerships between the two friendly countries.
Also tackled during the meeting were efforts being exerted by the international community to counter terrorism and joint coordination in this respect and the importance of work to support these efforts to realise peace and solidify pillars of security and stability in the region.
Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Barbara A. Leaf, US Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, attended the meeting.
