Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal said on Wednesday that no body can harm historic Egyptian-Ethiopian relations, adding that delegations representing parliaments of both nations will exchange visits.

This remark came during Abdel Aal's meeting with members of the parliament's African Affairs Committee, according to the head of the committee MP Moustafa el Gendy.

The speaker affirmed the importance of the committee, adding that he will support establishing parliamentary friendship associations with each African country separately.

Abdel Aal further underlined that a sum of EGP 1.2 billion had been invested in Ethiopia, noting that Egypt acknowledges the right of the Ethiopians in achieving development.

El Gendy said that he suggested to the speaker helping the African countries in overcoming Hepatitis C virus especially that there are 100 million patients suffering the disease in the continent.

The medicine will be provided with the same cost price sold to the Egyptians, the MP reiterated.

El Gendy said also that the committee will visit the Egyptian national football team before traveling to Gabon to participate in the African Nations Cup to raise the morale of the players.

The committee mulls allowing a member of the parliament to accompany the team.

The meeting took up also organizing an African conference to combat terrorism and establishing branches of Al Azhar University in Africa, el Gendy concluded.
