Lahore - Arab Today

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that after winning 2018 general election, a network of development projects would be laid in the country.
He said this while addressing the foundation-laying ceremony of Bab-e-Pakistan project, here on Sunday.
He said the project would be constructed on 117 acres of land and would cost more than Rs 4 billion. It would
incorporate auditorium, food court, sports complex, art gallery, lake and playgrounds.
Shehbaz Sharif said: “Today we are standing at that historical place of Bab-e-Pakistan which reminds us of the
unending struggle of the great leader Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his companions”.
The CM said that on October 12, 1999 when General Pervez Musharraf had pilfered the democratic government, then this project was handed over to then Punjab government who had made it the graveyard of corruption.
Furthermore, he said: “We are trying to fix the transgressions of previous government from last 9 years and today we have started the reconstruction of this project which would cost more than Rs 4 billion and it would be the greatest project of Lahore”.
“The project will play a proactive role to highlight the struggles and sacrifices of Tehrik-e-Pakistan before our new
generation”, he said.
Shehbaz Sharif said that few days earlier a great drama was staged at Mall Road which was attended by all political clowns who had looted the country with both hands.
Stories of corruption of Zardari were known by every young and old of Gilgit-Baltistan to Sindh and he was
demanding my resignation, he said.
He said that there was also a leader in the drama who uses to deceive everyone every-time.
The Chief Minister said that Imran Khan had accused him of Rs 27 billion for which I have sent him notice that was still unanswered.
Leader of PTI who claims to be the leader of one of the biggest party of Pakistan, but unable to provide evidence
after accusing someone, does he has any right to represent Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif questioned.
Shehbaz Sharif further shared that Imran Khan claimed that he would not only eradicate the darkness of Kyber
Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) but also generate electricity for the whole Pakistan nevertheless 4.5 years have passed and
PTI has failed to generate electricity of 1 KW even.
The CM said that later, he (Imran) announced of planting 1 billion trees in KPK and could not do so.
Moreover, the CM recalled that when Lahore was attacked with dengue virus, the Punjab government, political companions, members of assembly, bureaucrats and doctors went out to cope with it for which Niazi Sahib has taunted us and named us “Dengue Brothers” whereas when Peshawar confronted this virus we didn’t choose to protest or sit-in rather we have sent mobile hospitals, medicines, experts and teams of doctors for people of the Peshawar who have worked hard by day and night to help their brothers.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Niazi fled away to mountains rather than fighting with the dengue virus.
He said that Qadri has also made speech at the drama of Lahore and demanded my resignation.
He said that in Imran Khan claimed that if he would get the funds he would prefer to utilize it for health
and education sector but after a period of four and a half years he couldn’t lay even a brick of the project yet even
after taking a loan from Asian Development Bank.
The CM promised that if they would get a chance after 2018 elections they would make Karachi and Peshawar equivalent to Lahore while Balochistan, Sindh and KPK would be equal to Punjab in terms of development.
Furthermore, he added that NAB failed to recover money from Zardari but we won’t spare him and would bring back the looted money of widows and orphans from Swiss banks or in any other corner of the world.
He said that Imran has taunted Lahore Metro bus as “Jangla Bus” and blamed that Rs 70 billion have been spent at this project also claimed that they would start Metro Bus in Peshawar with a worth of Rs 4 billion.
However, the cost of Metro Bus project in Peshawar is Rs 52 Billion whereas Rs 30 billion in Lahore.
The CM also promised people of Peshawar that he would complete the project of Metro Bus within one year if he gets an opportunity to serve them in 2018 election.
He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif had promised people in 2013 election that he would end up shortage of electricity
and due to his struggle, load shedding was almost disappearing from the country.
The CM asked Qamar Zaman Kaira to change his name as we have overcome energy crisis. He said that investment of billions of rupees had been made in energy sector and there was no precedent of transparent and quick completion of projects in the history of Pakistan.
He said that NAB has summoned him tomorrow and he will bring real face of NAB before media with evidences.
Shehbaz Sharif said that billions of rupees have been looted in NICL, OGRA, Rental Power, Nandipur and Chichuki Malian but there was no one to hold them accountable.
He said that PTI has impeded OLMT and caused a delay of 22-months.
The chief minister said that the PML-N believed in serving people and would keep working for the welfare of
masses.
