Beirut - Arab Today

The office of attorney Antoine Abu Dib, lawyer of Nizar Zakka, sent the following statement:

Nizar Zakka was able to contact Prime Minister Hariri despite the difficulty of communication and interruptions for several times from the source.

Prime Minister Hariri and Nizar Zakka discussed the situation of the latter and the issue of his detention and the efforts being made by Prime Minister Hariri in coordination with the President of the Republic and in cooperation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Zakka wondered why, to date, like in any other country and for less important matters, no official statement has been issued by the Lebanese Government, the Parliament or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding his kidnapping, the Iranian Ambassador was not even summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for questioning about the case of kidnapping a Lebanese citizen while he was meeting an official invitation to Iran sent by the vice President for women and family affairs Miss Molaverdi, and has obtained a Visa from the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon for this purpose.

Zakka added that such situation has never happened in modern history in any country or even by a terrorist organization, he also added that if this happens with any other country or any party, the country would have turned "upside down ", specially that he is Innocent and didn't do anything that violates any Iranian' s law during his visit.
Zakka also spoke about his continuous psychological torture and his bad detention conditions.

From his side, Prime Minister Hariri was concerned about Nizar Zakka's situation and insisted to be reassured about his health. He assured him that he is following up his case and razing it with every Iranian Official visiting Lebanon.
Prime Minister Hariri said he is confident that the President will raise Nizar Zakka's issue during his upcoming visit to Iran.

Prime Minister Hariri stressed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs spares no effort in order to follow up this case to end it and return Nizar back, Prime Minister also said to Nizar that he is optimistic that this issue will have a happy ending very soon.

At the end of the conversation Nizar Zakka Thanked Prime Minister Hariri for all his efforts in order to rehabilitate the Lebanese Citizen ship and Lebanese Passport holders.

Specially that Nizar is Lebanese with no other nationality and was granted a Visa through the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon on his Lebanese Passport. He also thanks Prime Minister Hariri for maintaining contacts with the President of the Republic and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and in particular for continuing the phone conversation despite many interruptions.

Prime Minister informed Nizar that he will see what he could do in order to issue a statement through the concerned official Lebanese institutions.

From his side Nizar stressed, that he has never requested anything from any Lebanese officials in his life and his only request is that the Lebanese state, to which he proudly belongs, carries out its duties to lift the injustice inflicted on a Lebanese citizen, otherwise, this injustice may affect any Lebanese Citizen in any Country
