Organisation of Islamic Organisation (OIC) Secretary General Youssef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen met United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator and Head of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock.
The two sides stressed on the importance of cooperation and partnership between the two organizations in the field of humanitarian assistance and relief work in different countries.
The meeting discussed the plight of Rohingya Muslim minority of Myanmar and the joint coordination to provide humanitarian assistance to help the refugees who crossed the borders to Bangladesh. Both sides stressed the need to deal with the root causes of the problem
