State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi Tuesday informed the Upper House that Punjab chief minister has no involvement in the matter of torturing the family of his election opponent.
He said this during a statement in the Senate regarding registration of false FIR against Hafeez Buzdar Baloch who
contested election against the chief minister of Punjab and the incident of torturing of his family members, raised by Senator Hasil Khan Bizenjo on September 18 this year.
The state minister said Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar got 26,000 votes in the general election while one of his election opponent Hafeez Buzdar Baloch was on 8th number by securing 390 votes.
He said this particular incident was due to old enmity between two rival groups and the chief minister has nothing to do with it. He said everyone is equal under the government’s umbrella constitutionally and no one would be allowed to humiliate anyone. No one would be allowed to misuse his power, he maintained.
