The Syrian High Negotiations Committee (HNC) said that the Russian side does not have a major influence on Syrian President Bashar al Assad's regime, Al Arabiya news channel reported.
In a statement on Tuesday, the committee, which is an umbrella body that was created to represent the Syrian opposition in the Geneva talks in 2016, urged the United Nations and its special envoy to shoulder their responsibility towards crimes committed by the regime forces across Syria.
These crimes are considered as "war crimes" by international law, the statement added.
Earlier, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Tuesday that seven civilians including a woman and a child were killed when military jets targeted Barzeh neighborhood in eastern Damascus.
Also, 12 people were seriously injured during the shelling, the observatory said.
