Paris - Qna

Saudi Arabia has renewed its call to all Member States of the United Nations to recognize the State of Palestine on the borders of June 1967 with East Al-Quds as its capital, and to grant it full membership of the United Nations including all international organizations and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Addressing the UNESCO Executive Council, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Subayyil, Advisor to the Minister of Education, on behalf of Saudi Arabia''s Representative to the Council Faisal bin Muammar, underlined the five historical decisions taken by the Executive Council in its 185th session on the preservation of Palestinian heritage, which have been important and essential steps in the context of full international recognition of the state of Palestine, noting that Saudi Arabia has been one of the countries that have contributed significantly for the work for positive voting on these decisions, Saudi Press Agency SPA reported. The Saudi Representative reviewed Saudi Arabia efforts during the past four years of its membership in the Executive Council including serious and effective contribution in many programs of UNESCO and the creation of a number of programs including the establishment of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Program for the Support of Arabic language, which he said allowed a strong presence of one of the major languages at UNESCO.(
