Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Foreign Minister has affirmed Saudi Arabia's keenness to participate in the meeting of the donors' conference on the Republic of Somalia, which was held at the headquarters of the United Nations yesterday, emanated from its firm policy to support and assist every effort designed to help the Somali people. In an address at the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah, who is also a member of the Kingdom's delegation to meetings of the 66th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, said the Horn of Africa is currently experiencing the worst drought in sixty years which has resulted in a severe food crisis and famine leading to the death and the displacement of tens of thousands, adding to sufferings of Somalia from the effects of civil war which has been raging there for years. He stated that the quest to mobilize the necessary resources in the face of the painful results of that famine must be at the forefront of the international community's concerns.
