Several people were injured after a passenger bus collided with a car on early Tuesday in Russia's Siberian city of Novosibirsk, a local police spokesman said.The spokesman said the accident took place on a central square of the city at 8:00 a.m. local time (1:00 a.m. GMT). "A fire erupted in the bus after it collided with a car. Several people were injured but the exact number is still unknown," he said. According to statistics, about 30,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year in Russia due to the poor state of highway networks and reckless driving.Last year, however, over 26,000 people died on Russian roads, down 23% from the 2004 figure of 34,000.
