A senior lawmaker has hailed a trip by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi that will start on Monday to four African countries.
"The trip will boost cooperation between Egypt and the African countries at all levels," said Mostafa el-Gendy, the head of the African affairs committee of the House of Representatives.
All visits of the president to African states come as part of Egypt's openness to Africa and its keenness on boosting its relations with the continent in all domains, he said.
"Such visits attract great and unprecedented interest from all African leaders, presidents and peoples," he added.
He expected the upcoming trip to have several positive effects on cooperation between Egypt and the countries of Tanzania, Rwanda, Gabon and Chad in the political and economic fields as well as trade exchange.
The senior lawmaker stressed also the importance of talks Sisi will have with the leaders of the four states as pertaining to joint challenges and issues of mutual concern.
