A police chief has said that six members of an Afghan family were murdered in south-western Afghanistan. The provincial police chief Abdul Jabar Purdeli said the killing took place in Zaraj city, the provincial capital of Nimroz province, on Friday night. "The family of Niaz Mohammad was murdered overnight by unknown men who attacked his house killing six members of the family and leaving only one 3-year-old child alive." "The cause of the incident seems to be a criminal act due to personal enmity and is not related to insurgency," he said adding that Niaz was a clothing merchant in his late 30s.
