Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali met Saturday with members of the World Bank delegation at the end of their five-day visit to Egypt to evaluate Takaful and Karama social safety nets program.
The meeting included a follow-up of the progress achieved in the Takaful and Karama program, as well as the lessons learned from it, especially that Egypt is the first Arab country to implement a financial support program, the Ministry of Social Solidarity said in a Saturday statement.
The program is implemented to provide social protection in line with a raft of economic reforms adopted by Cairo, the statement said.
The World Bank delegation, comprising nine experts, held meetings with officials from the Takaful and Karama program and visited the governorates of Fayoum and Beni Suef, where they met with some local officials.
