The Sudanese Anti-Terrorism Authority and the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in the prevention of extremism.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Sudanese Counter-Terrorism Authority, Dr. Mohamed Jamaluddin, and the Director for the United Nations Development Programme in Sudan, Silva Ramachandran.
The MoU is designed to address people most at risk of extremism, especially youths, and to build national capacities in the state and civil society.
It targets key activities such as the development of national strategy, on-going study and strategic communications, capacity development and disengagement, and rehabilitation and reintegration of youths at risk of extremism.
