The Sudanese Foreign Ministry on Sunday summoned Charge D'Affairs in the American Embassy in Khartoum, over banning Sudanese nationals from entering the US.
According to Sudan news agency (SUNA), Undersecretary of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry Abdulmuneim Al Naeem met with the American Charge d'Affaires on the Executive Order issued by US President Donald Trump restricting the entry of Sudanese citizens to the United States among the citizens of seven countries.
The Sudanese official expressed dissatisfaction of his country's government with the action taken against Sudanese citizens. He added that the Sudanese Government considers Exicutive order to be a negative message in light of the positive developments in the course of relations between the two countries, especially after the lifting of economic sanctions on Sudan, and in light of the cooperation between the two countries in the field of counter-terrorism.
He stressed Sudan's keenness to continue dialogue and cooperation with the US on all bilateral levels as well as regional and international issues of common concern, adding that his country is waiting for the United States to lifted Sudan from the list of state sponsoring terrorism and to reconsider the decision, which strict the entry of Sudanese citizens to the United States.
