Russian President, Vladimir Putin, stressed that the Syrian Arab army, backed by Russia, restored most of the Syrian lands from the terrorists.
Meeting with heads of delegations of local Orthodox churches on Monday, Putin said that the situation in Syria is gradually changing and the Syrian forces, supported by the Russian military personnel, liberated most of the country’s territories from the terrorists.
“The situation in Syria is gradually changing, Syrian troops supported by the Russian military have liberated nearly all of the country’s territories from terrorists,” Russian Sputnik News Agency quoted Putin as saying.
Putin added that the Russian State along with the Russian Orthodox Church and other religious organizations provided, over the past few years, humanitarian aid to those who were affected by the war in Syria, adding that it is important that peaceful life to return to Syria for people to become able to return homes.
The Russian President asserted that many of churches and shrines have been looted and destroyed by the terrorists, pointing out that rebuilding of the churches has started.
Putin promised that Russia will help all components of the Syrian people who have suffered a lot by the gangs, terrorists and extremists
