The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and Indonesia, represented by the Ministry of Labour, have discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the regulation of the recruitment of Indonesian workers.
The discussions came during a meeting between a delegation of the ministry headed by Dr. Omar Al-Nuaimi, Assistant Under-Secretary for International Relations and Communications, and officials of the Indonesian Ministry of Labour, where the two sides reviewed means to regulate employment of Indonesian workers in the private sector.
During its recent visit to Indonesia, the delegation stressed the UAE's keenness to provide decent work opportunities and to safeguard the rights of temporary contractual workers in the country.
The Indonesian side expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the UAE to protect labourer rights, stressing that the country is an attractive destination for Indonesian labour, pointing out their keenness to increase their contribution in the UAE labour market.
