UAE participates in Ministerial Discussion on Syria

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, participated in the Ministerial Discussion on Syria, which was hosted by the United States in New York yesterday, as part of activities of the 72nd Session of UN General Assembly.
The meeting was chaired by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and attended by foreign ministers of the Friends of Syria Group as well as representatives of the United Nations and European Union.
The participants held detailed discussions on the latest military, political and humanitarian developments in Syria and reviewed outcome of UN peace efforts and Geneva negotiations.
The ministers agreed on preserving the unity of Syria and pledged to continue the political process to bring stability to Syria. They also expressed their commitment to pursue delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people.
