Omar Abdi, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, has commended the UAE Government’s role in supporting children and UNICEF internationally.
Mr. Abdi also praised the role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, towards the progression of children in the UAE and internationally.
During his meeting with Reem Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the UNICEF official also hailed Sheikha Fatima's recognised role in finding ways to provide health care and education for children and facilitate access to children’s rights in all institutions of society.
During the meeting, Al Falasi and Mr. Abdi also reviewed children’s programmes and collaborations between the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and UNICEF.
