Chairman Standing Committee on Defence in the Senate, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed Tuesday said United States (US) could not achieve success in Afghan war without cooperation of Pakistan.
Pakistan had gained immense success in war against terrorism, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said the whole nation, political parties and other stake-holders were united after tweet of US president Donald Trump against Pakistan.
Mushahid Syed said Trump had tweeted to please India and the biggest reason of his anger against Pakistan was China -Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. “We all are united on national issues including Kashmir dispute and completion of CPEC.”
He said Pakistan was a sovereign country and would give strong reaction to the statements of Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The US sanctions and curbs on Pakistan in the past had always given benefits to our country, he added.
He said the world including Saudi Arabia and India had rejected the US policy on Jerusalem in United States General Assembly (UNGA).
Mushahid Hussain said after 9/11 incident, US had spent billions of dollars in Afghanistan in war against terrorism but still did not achieve success.
Replying to a question, he said Pakistan had isolated India through Speakers Conference here in which China, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia and Iran participated. These countries had endorsed the stance of Pakistan on Kashmir issue, he added.
He said Pakistan had a strong and strengthen democracy as compared to other Muslim countries, adding the democratic system should continue in the country.
Former Ambassador to US and PPP central leader Sherry Rehman said Pakistan had collectively reacted over the tweet of Donald Trump. “We had rendered supreme sacrifices in war against terrorism.”
