US secretary of state urges Turkey to adopt self-restraint
Washington - Arab Today

Spokesman of the US Secretary of State John Kirby urged Sunday Ankara to exercise self-restraint and respect law while carrying out investigations with those who planned the aborted coup attempt in Turkey days ago.

For its part, the Canadian government called on its Turkish counterpart to avoid "collective punishment" policy, according to Sky News channel.

US Secretary of State John Kerry phoned his Turkish counterpart on Saturday Mevlut Cavusoglu where he denied allegations that Washington is involved in the coup attempt which left more than 250 people dead, noting that his country supports Turkey.
