Tehran - Fars

US officials and media have started staging a new scenario against Tehran in a bid to divert the world public opinion from uprisings in the US and the Middle-East, launch a new wave of security measures in the US to harness Wall Street uprising, weaken the regional nations' trust in Iran and its revolution, and persuade the UN Security Council members to accept a new resolution against Tehran to push Iran to the corner of the ring in the nuclear talks. As the Obama administration is grappling with growing unrests and popular protests all throughout the US, the White House launched a new wave of campaign against Iran and alleged that the FBI and DEA have defused an Iranian plot hatched to kill a Saudi envoy in Washington. FBI and DEA agents alleged on Tuesday that they have disrupted a plot to commit a "significant terrorist act in the United States" tied to Iran. The US officials claimed that the plot included the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington, D.C. Bombings of the Saudi and Israeli embassies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were also discussed, according to the US officials. US Attorney General Eric Holder claimed in an announcement today that the plan was "conceived, sponsored and was directed from Iran" by a faction of the government and called it a "flagrant" violation of US and international law. Holder alleged that the plot was "conceived" in Iran by the Quds force, part of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC). A few hours later on Tuesday night, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast dismissed the US allegations as a prefabricated scenario which is totally unfounded. "Such worn-out approaches which are based on the old hostile policies of the American-Zionist axis are a comedy show and part of the special scenarios staged and pursued by the enemies of Islam and the region to sow discord (among Muslims)," Mehman-Parast said. But a look at the past reveals that Washington and some of its allies always hatch well-worked plots to launch psychological operations against Washington's foes in sensitive junctures. Also a look at the present conditions in the Middle-East and the western countries reveals that the US and its allies are having a very bad time as popular uprisings not only in the Arab countries but also in the US and several European countries have undermined the US strategies, led to the further isolation of the Zionist regime, and attracted the attention of the world media. Thus, the White House once again is at a sensitive juncture and needs to divert the world public opinion from the suppression of the people in the US and the western communities and the massacre of the protestors in Bahrain, Yemen and the US main ally in the region, Saudi Arabia. And as usual, this new act has gone on stage through the tight collaboration of all the western media which have mobilized all their capacity and possibility to convince the world nations to accept a big, big lie. Meantime, this new act can help the White House to start a new wave of security measures across the US and announce high alert conditions under the pretext of war on terrorism in a move to better clamp down on Wall Street protests which have overwhelmed the country. Also, the Obama administration believes that such a plot can help them undermine Arab nations' trust in Iran at a time when nations throughout the Muslim world are viewing Iran as their model and a dozen of them have witnessed massive popular uprisings which, as they themselves say, have all been inspired by Iran's Islamic Revolution. Yet, this new plot can also help the US and its allies to exert more pressure on Iran in nuclear talks between Tehran and the West. The plot has already provided a pretext for the US to start a new round of sanctions against Iran and the White House is hopeful that it could also persuade other UN Security Council members, specially Russia and China, to avoid vetoing a new resolution against Iran. No matter how much successful this new plot of the US might be, if at all, the world nations should read both sides of the story to better realize the realities behind the United States' new puppet show.
