US welcomes Jordan’s constitutional amendments

The United States welcomed His Majesty King Abdullah’s recent announcement of proposed constitutional amendments. US State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland said in a briefing last night that “We fully support the aspirations of the Jordanian people in their effort to pay a larger role in how they’re governed. “It’s obviously up to the Jordanian people and their government to take this forward. And as the King himself has said, the key to success in Jordan is going to be implementation of these reforms,” Nuland added.
