Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis al Jehinawi said that the visit of his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni to his country at the head of an economic delegation represents a proof of Italy's support for the Tunisian economy.
The visit also reflects the confidence of Italy in stability of the Arab country.
These remarks came during a joint press conference held between al Jehinawi and Gentiloni here on Monday.
Al Jehinawi said that Italy was one of the first countries to back the democratic transition in Tunisia since 2011.
He further said that the visit shows the support of the Italian private sector and government to investments in Tunisia the matter which will create job opportunities.
The minister underscored that Italy is the second commercial partner for Tunisia in the European Union (EU), adding that the discussions with Gentiloni took up joint economic cooperation and Italian security support to Tunisia.
For his part, Gentiloni said that rendering the Tunisian democratic experience depends on the efforts of the friendly countries to provide a suitable atmosphere for the foreign investors.
The Italian minister said he came to Tunisia leading a high-level delegation grouping 150 businessmen to participate in the Italy-Tunisia business forum .
The minister underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture and energy besides fighting terrorism and securing borders with Libya.
