Arab Today, arab today Fatah leader: Netanyahu letter presents 'dead-end'

Ramallah - MA'AN

Fatah official Abbas Zaki said Monday that Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu's letter on the peace process presents a "dead-end." Netanyahu's response to a letter from President Mahmoud Abbas outlining his position on peace talks was delivered by envoy Yitzhak Molcho late Saturday. Speaking to official Voice of Palestine radio, Zaki said the letter outlined long-term solutions that would take 20 years to implement, which he warned would allow Israel time to take over all Palestinian lands. Israel still views a Palestinian state as temporary, and has put Palestinian decision-makers in front of a dead-end, he told the station. The PLO central committee discussed the letter at their Sunday meeting, and mulled ways to proceed on the local, regional and international level, he added.
