Hundreds of Palestinians left the Gaza Strip, heading towards the occupied Al Quds via Israeli Erez crossing, to perform Friday prayers in Al Aqsa Mosque.
According to local sources, 300 Palestinians, aged over 50, crossed the checkpoint. They included 100 UNRWA employees, the sources added.
In October 2014, Israeli occupation authorities had agreed for Gaza residents who were over 50 years old to pray in the holy mosque and return on the same day.
Erez crossing works on a partial basis on Fridays to allow humanitarian cases and closes on Saturdays.
