Kabul - XINHUA

Three Afghan soldiers were killed in two bomb attacks, the country's Defense Ministry said on Monday. "Two army soldiers were martyred in Improvised Explosive Device attack in Dilaram district of western Farah province. One soldier died in similar attack in Qara Bagh district of eastern Ghazni province," the ministry said in a statement. The Taliban insurgent group has intensified attacks recently as the Afghan army and police took the full operational lead from foreign troops in June last year. The war-torn country is due to take over the responsibility for its own security from foreign troops by the end of the year. More than 57,000 NATO-led foreign troops are currently being deployed in Afghanistan.
