At least 37 Taliban militants were killed during military operations by Afghan national army soldiers during the past 24 hours.
Defense ministry spokeman Gen. Zahir Azimi said the operations were conducted in various provinces of Afghanistan.
Azimi further added that three leaders of the anti-government armed militants were also arrested during the operations, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
He said various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives were discovered and confiscated by Afghan army soldiers during the same operations.
Azimi also added that Afghan army soldiers neutralized 14 rounds of improvised explosive device (IED) planted by anti-government armed militants.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Interior said at least 29 militants were killed during the joint military operations in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry added the operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Herat, Maidan Wardak and Helmand provinces.
