The Afghan Ministry of Defense

Five soldiers and 61 militants have been killed in newest military operations across the country, ministries of defense and interior announced on Monday.

According to the statement issued by the Afghan Ministry of Defense the five soldiers have been killed due to landmine explosion and insurgent fire in past 24 hours, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).

In the meantime, a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior states that 61 militants were killed and 72 others wounded during separate military operations in seven provinces in past 24 hours.

Nine different types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were also defused during these operations.
