Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

The United Arab Emirates announced Wednesday that five of its citizens were killed in the terrorist attack on the Kandahar guesthouse in Afghanistan yesterday evening.

President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has mourned, with deep sorrow and grief, the death of the citizens who have been on a mission to carry out humanitarian, educational and development projects in the Republic of Afghanistan, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

In a statement by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the UAE President directed all ministries and government departments and institutions across the country to fly the flag at half-mast for three days in honor of the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of humanitarian causes.
